Food at Freyrs
At Freyrs we will be serving a fantastic selection of healthy food, that's great for a snack or a meal, using local organic ingredients and the best of whats around.
Our food will be inspired by a range of cuisines from around the world, as well as old favorites from the UK and will change depending on the seasons.
Our Beliefs
We believe in supporting local community so we will purchase from local suppliers and this helps to keep food miles low. We aim to employ staff on fair wages and not the minimum we think we can pay. We will also support local charities by offering them space to host events and by making donations. Our charities of choice will initially be Medway Queen Preservation Society and Kent Search and Rescue. We also aim to employ a number of disabled and or homeless people.
Our Home
Freyrs will be based onboard the ex Royal Navy Minesweeper HMS Tongham, permanently docked at Gillingham pier in Kent. Tongham was built in 1957 and is registered on the UK historic ships register and is probably the best preserved of the 93 Ham Class minesweepers built in the UK in the 1950s. We aim to keep her character and add to it with a cosy arty atmosphere that makes eating great food onboard a pleasure.
